In need of fun educational activities to fill the time in quarantine? Here's a few ideas:
- Coloring Around the World! Go to: Kayak.com and print a coloring sheet of your choice from around the world. If you don’t have a printer, they also have an app that you can color digitally on. I recommend printing if possible. Coloring is a very relaxing activity-- set your child up with crayons or colored pencils in a quiet space and turn on some classical music. I like this playlist from Spotify (and I know kids do too!): Piano Pop Covers
- Follow-up activity: Have your child research that place in the world. National Geographic has great resources to learn more about different countries & cultures. Then, have them complete a "3-2-1": THREE facts they learned, ONE TWO ideas that surprised them, and ONE question they have about that country.
- Craft! I LOVE crafting and I know kids do too. Here are some great ideas for spring crafts that can be made from materials around the house: EASY, PEASY, AND FUN.
- Make a guesstimation jar! Take jelly beans, Mike-n-Ikes, Skittles, or whatever small candy your child likes. Fill up a jar & have them estimate how many candies are in the jar. Have other friends and family join the fun- write down everyone's guesses, have the kid(s) count the candies to see who closest and whoever is closest gets to keep (and hopefully share) the candy!
